Weebly Review

4.4
4.4/5

Weebly isn’t quite as flexible as Wix, nor quite as sophisticated looking as Squarespace but what sets it apart is its clear and simple to use interface. Weebly boasts more than 625,000 paid subscribers that would agree.

Pricing

Weebly ecommerce plans start from as little as $15 per month which is super competitive and they even offer a 30 day money back guarantee. All plans include: a shopping cart, the ability to accept payments through Square, inventory management, coupon codes and gift cards. So you really are getting pretty good bang for your buck.

Templates & Design

Weebly offers around seventy themes in total with 15 classified as “Online Store” worthy. Though Weebly themes are on a par as Wix and not quite as good as Squarespace, all of them are responsive, which means they’ll work well on mobile devices.

Usability

This is where Weebly stands out from the crowd. The user interface is built with first time ecommerce platform users in mind. After signing up for the first time, Weebly hold your hand every step of the way with easy to understand step by step instructions. The left hand side menu allows you to choose what elements you want to include in your site. Want a contact form? Just click “Include a contact form”. Pretty straight forward stuff.

Payments

Shipping

Weebly’s shipping settigs are also easy to set up and intuitive. You can set shipping rates based on a number of different criteria’s which you can see below.

The region in already populated based on your location, so they’ve included 6 States and 3 Territories for us in Australia. If you want to configure different rates for different States, just separate it into its own region.

SEO

All major website builders handle SEO relatively well these days and Weebly is no different. They have the regulation features which will all help you to rank better in Google:

  • Dictate Page Titles
  • Page Description
  • Control Image file names
  • Enable a free site to be being indexed in Google
  • SSL encryption
  • Add alt text for images

Apps

Other sales channels

Weebly have an integration which allows you to sell on Facebook and Instagram Shops. If you wanted to start selling on Amazon, Ebay or Etsy however, its going to be more of a challenge with no direct integrations for such Marketplaces.

Support

Customers outside of the United States have access to Email support, not live chat nor phone support which is a little bit of a let down. I guess their rationale is that they’ve made it so easy to set up, you can just work it out yourself!
